Hello Niyo Team,

I want to raise a complaint regarding my Niyo DCB Debit Card. My account was charged Rs. 590 for Debit Card AMC. But my account had more than 5000 rs. Then why the AMC was deducted. As far as I know, one has to maintain 5000 rs quarterly to waive off the AMC charges which I did. I had maintained more than 5000 since the last 12 months continuously. Then why was the AMC deducted.
Has there been any change in terms and conditions which I am not aware of. If yes, please clarify about it.
If the charges has been deducted erroneously by DCB Bank, please make sure to refund back the AMC charges after consulting them.
Please look into the matter and provide a resolution.

Hey @saraswathi.r

Or anyone reading from Team Niyo

Thanks for giving the update. I could not reply earlier due to stuck up with work

Paying 590 rupees is not a big deal for me. I would like to raise a complaint formally with Niyo Global as my account initiation process was done from here and not through DCB. To recall I had opened the account on 11th October 2023 (welcome letter attached). In the SoC (attached) it was clearly written that the card will be free for the first year and from the second year AMB would be charged if a balance of 5K is not maintained. After opening my account I was not able to use the DCB account much, as by the time the card had arrived I was already overseas. After returning to India, I immediately added the required funds and continuously was maintaining it. Since the first year is free according to the SoC (attached), and I started maintaining more than 5K before the first year ended, I shouldn’t have been charged AMC. From the second year which started on 11th October 2024, I have constantly maintained more than 5K and technically DCB should charge at the end of second year or on starting of second year that is 11th October 2024 if I was at fault for not maintaining the required balance but the non maintenance charge was charged in January 2025. Please provide a proper explanation for that. I have attached all the necessary documents and screenshots

  1. DCB Welcome Letter
  2. DCB Niyo Welcome Handbook (Refer page number 8)
  3. Screenshot of page number 8

Please provide a satisfactorily and a speedy resolution. If that is not provided, I will not hesitate to take up the matter with RBI Banking Ombudsman for deficiency of services by DCB and Niyo.

Thanks and regards

Sayantan

Hi @sayantan,

We wanted to inform you that the DCB Bank team tried reaching out to you on Friday to explain the situation, and they also attempted again today, but were unable to get a response. Could you please let us know a convenient time when you’ll be available for a call? The team would like to connect with you over the phone to explain the situation and assist you further.

Thank you for your cooperation!

Hey @saraswathi.r

Much appreciated.
Thanks

Hi @Nith_In

Please ask DCB to explain the situation over email. I am not available to take calls at the moment. On the basis of the written communication/reply by DCB, I would decide accordingly the further course of action to take. Clearly there has been a deficiency of service by both Niyo and DCB by not honouring the statements given in the DCB Niyo welcome letter and handbook

Thank you
