I received an email from Niyo Global Equitas Bank stating my account is going to be closed suddenly stating “We regret to inform you that we are constrained to close your savings account as your pincode location is in a non-serviceable area. The account will be closed on 15-11-2024.”
I have never asked or request an account closure. I am currently abroad and due to this I will be having a huge setback with my finances. I will highly appreciate if someone can help me regarding this and can help me with an alternative to resolve the issue.
We sincerely regret the inconvenience caused by the unexpected closure of your account. We understand the importance of uninterrupted financial services, especially while you are abroad. The closure of your account is due to non-serviceable PIN codes, which is a policy decision by the bank. We regret its impact on you.
Please be assured that your funds remain secure. For any further assistance, feel free to contact us at customerservice@equitasbank.com or call 1800 103 1222 (Mon-Fri, 9 am-6 pm).
Thank you for your reply. I hope your are doing well.
While I understand this unfortunate scenario, can you please suggest me an alternative way through which I can apply for a new Niyo Global Card maybe something which is associated with a different bank?
I would highly appreciate it if you could help me out regarding this as the current scenario makes me helpless to manage my funds.

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, I am unable to create my account through the app and it asks me to visit the branch with the documents to open my Niyo DCB Account.
Can you please suggest the best course of action regarding this since it is not possible for me to physically visit the branch and provide the documents?
Thank you so much for reaching out and sharing your concern. We truly appreciate your interest in our product .
It looks like the app is prompting you to visit the nearest branch due to some issues with your digital onboarding process with DCB Bank. No worries though! You can use DCB branch locate to find the nearest DCB branch and get your account created .
Once your account is successfully set up, we’ll be more than happy to help you sync it with the Niyo app . Thanks so much for your patience and understanding .
Thank you for your reply. I guess you haven’t read the entire thread of my post. Just to summarize, I am not currently in India and since my Niyo Global Equitas Bank has been closed stating “unservicable pincode” abruptly, I intend to create a Niyo DCB Account but unfortunately I am unable to do so since the app asks me to visit the branch.
Hence, I would like you to suggest me the best course of action since I am an international student and it is practically impossible for me to visit India to get my account opened in person.
Is it possible that you can reset the process for my kyc with DCB bank and then when I am in India, instead of physically visiting the bank, I can do it via the app itself since you stated there might be an issue with some issue related to “digital onboarding process with DCB Bank ” ? How do I re-do the entire process from scratch?
We regret to inform you that we are unable to reset the onboarding procedure from Niyo’s end, as the digital account creation and KYC process are managed entirely by DCB Bank.
As a way forward, we recommend visiting a nearby bank branch when you are in India to create an offline account. Once that is completed, please reach out to us via the live in-app chat team or email global.escalation@goniyo.com, and we will assist you in linking your account with the app.
