How to close niyo sbm and dcb account permanently

If you do wish to proceed with the account closure for SBM account, please send an email to global@goniyo.com with the subject line “I want to close Niyo SBM savings account” from your registered email ID. :e-mail: This will help us escalate the request to the bank.


In your email, please include the following details and documents:

  • Account number :scroll:
  • Name on the account :memo:
  • Reason for closure :stop_sign:
  • Customer ID proof (Digitally verified and masked self-attested Aadhaar card or Self Attested PAN card) :id:
  • A copy of another bank cheque (with your name printed on it) :credit_card: or an image of your passbook :open_book: (for transferring any remaining balance)


The team will review the documents and guide you further on the closure process. :white_check_mark:

Where do I mail in order to close my SBM Niyo Account? I no longer want to use it.

However, if you still wish to close your account, to proceed with the account closure, kindly write an email to global@goniyo.com with the subject “I want to close Niyo SBM savings account” from your registered email ID so that we can escalate this with the bank.
Please include the below details and documents in the email:
Account number

  • Name on the account
  • Reason for closure
  • Customer ID proof - (Digitally verified and masked self-attested Aadhaar card or Self-Attested PAN card)
  • Another Bank Cheque Copy, please make sure that your name is printed on the cheque, or you can share an image of your passbook. (for transferring the balance, if any) :niyo_community:

Hey Guys, the purpose of getting the Niyo SBM debit card has been completed. Now I don’t need this account. I’m thinking of deleting the account from the bank ~ but when I talk with the voice bot (in-built in app) suggested me to block the account/card.
I need expert’s advice here.

Because I don’t need the account here after i.e I’m not gonna use niyo app.

Please give me a solution asap, thank you.

As suggested by you, I have written to global@goniyo.com but they replied with a full page advertisement of why I shouldn’t close my account. I replied to that mentioning again that I want to close my account. It’s 2 days now but haven’t heard back.

Even after escalation, all I got is a mail stating we need some more time. Five days have passed since then and yet no update.

If this is a tactic to delay the closure and take it to July so that you can charge me debit card annual fees, please note, it is not going to work. If you do that I will complaint to RBI Ombudsman, and it will be you who will end up paying a compensation.

We sincerely apologize for the delay and any inconvenience caused. We’ve attempted to reach you over call to share an update but couldn’t get through.

Please note that the account closure process is handled directly by SBM Bank. Your closure request had already been escalated, and we’ve now received confirmation that the account has been successfully closed. You will receive an official confirmation email from the SBM bank as well.
