This was a Hummus platter which has different types of hummus, baba ganush etc served with a lavash(bread) at the Arab street in Singapore - It was just way too good -Super Tasty
Chicken Pho (Vietnam) - A warm, comforting broth filled with delicate rice noodles, tender chicken slices, and fresh herbs that create a symphony of flavors. Itâs a bowl of soul-soothing goodness thatâs perfect for any time of day! Chicken Rice (Vietnam) - Juicy, flavorful chicken served over fragrant rice, accompanied by fresh greens and a tangy sauce. A simple yet unforgettable dish that represents the heart of Vietnamese street food.
From the bustling streets of Vietnam, where every corner serves a story, I bring you two unforgettable dishes that are pure magic in a bowl and on a plate! My official entry for the #LocalCuisineChronicles by @Zahid_Niyo
What It Is: Thai Red Curry is a vibrant and flavorful dish made with coconut milk, red curry paste, and a mix of vegetables, often including bell peppers, bamboo shoots, and basil. It typically features proteins like duck or pork, which add depth to the dish.
My Experience: During my stay at the luxurious Intercontinental Pattaya resort in Chonburi, Thailand (where I paid more than âš18,000 per night! ), I embarked on a culinary adventure at breakfast. Initially, the vegetarian option was just rice , but the chef kindly prepared a modified Thai Red Curry without duck and pork upon my request. I was excited to try it, but after the first bite, I had to dash to the washroom with a bunch of tissue papers! Unfortunately, I stuck to coffee, bread, and rice with ketchup for the rest of my stay since I had already paid for breakfast.

Being a foodie i have a passionate interest in food, enjoying not only eating but also exploring, experiencing, and learning about different cuisines, cooking techniques, ingredients, and culinary cultures. I often seek out new restaurants, recipes, and food-related experiences. The best part is we both are foodies and good cooks.
The below is what I experienced in Dubai. My daughter in law is a Filipino and they live to eat. Anytime everytime and all the time⌠No left over in the household.
Chicken intestines, known as âisawâ in Filipino cuisine, and a popular street food in the Philippines. They are usually skewered, grilled, and often served with a spicy vinegar dipping sauce. Itâs an eye sore but itâs delicious.
When we were presented this on a skewer I could not figure out anything⌠So I waited and watched the rest eating. Eventually I indulged rest is history. I have not repeated it again.
Hereâs my most memorable & unforgettable food experience
Raw full cabbage Yes you read it right. In Vienna, on my first Europe travel in 2009, I had met one girl from Australia and another from Brazil and we set out for an evening together and came upon an outdoor music event that we joined in. There were many food stalls and we decided to grab a bite. Whilst they went about ordering their food, I asked in one of the stalls if there was anything Vegetarian. The response was âwhat is vegetarian?â And I am like - fruits, vegetables, no meat, no chicken, no fish, no egg and he goes âAhâ. Bends down and picks up one full cabbage - offers it to me and says âvegetarian, 2 Eurosâ. I didnât know whether to laugh or go hungry and ended up buying fries despite knowing they were fried in the same oil as chicken et al
P.S- not posting the photo of the raw cabbage as am sure all of you know what it looks like
Authentic himachali dhamâŚa traditional delicacy of himachal having various dishes apecially like sepy wadi, khatta kaddu, mitha kaddu, kadhi etcâŚspecially madyal dham or kangridham are something one sh never miss âŚserved with rohru(warm spiced lassi) n siddu(steamed rice buns stuffed with walnuts n herbs)
Huge congrats to @Prantick_Santra for winning the Local Cuisine Chronicle contest! Your Chicken Pho and Chicken Rice sound so good, Iâm considering hiring a detectiveâ:man_detective:to investigate why my veggies arenât as exciting!
Iâm also thrilled to be recognized as one of the top picks! Thank you for the shoutout @Zahid_Niyo ! It was such a pleasure sharing my experience with Thai Red Curry.
I loved reading everyoneâs culinary adventures, thereâs so much creativity in our community! Looking forward to the next contest and more delicious stories from all of you!
Thanks, mate @anuragalive ! Battling you was like trying to untangle headphonesânext to impossible. But guess what, Iâve got some insider scoop. So unless you want to hire Sherlock, just pay me in your precious Niyo coins. If you donât, I might have to unleash my secret weapon and serenade you with âTujhe mirchi lagi toh main kya karoonâ on repeat.
Ultimately, I did it. Oh no, Vietnamâyou did it! Thanks, @Zahid_Niyo for organizing this awesome contest. As the pho and chicken rice won first place, I want to share my love for both dishes.
When I landed in Vietnam, I was suffering from a sore throat and cough, and chicken pho came as a natural remedy. As for the chicken rice, Iâm not usually a big fan of rice, but the aroma of jasmine rice and the crispy chicken on top was too delicious to resist. If youâre going to Vietnam, donât miss out on these dishes!
