Thanks a ton for your time on the call. Upon checking, it looks like your account is temporarily frozen as your VKYC isn’t complete. To complete the VKYC, you’ll need to be in India for completing the process.

Hi,

But this is too much to take it.

I want my account back now

Hey @Saurabh3110

We’ve received an update from the bank that your account has been frozen due to regulatory guidelines. Unfortunately, we’re unable to unfreeze it on our end. We kindly request you to reach out to SBM Bank directly for further assistance at 1800 209 9335 or via email at customercare@sbmbank.co.in

We appreciate your understanding.

In a very dire situation like other students, all my money is in the SBM bank and I was lured into opening the bank account saying I can use the funds for all my expenses abroad etc. It is now frozen and neither the bank nor is Niyo helping. I cannot explain my situation it is getting worse. Kindly help!

Hello @Arnav_Prakash

Welcome to the Niyo Community! :raised_hands:

We see that you’ve already reached out to us via email on ticket 2535245 and through Instagram. As mentioned, your VKYC hasn’t been completed since your account was created on June 2, 2022, which is why your account is currently frozen by SBM Bank.

Once the VKYC is completed, your account will be unfrozen. Please remember that your live location needs to be in India to comply with RBI guidelines. There is no manual intervention from Niyo’s end on VKYC; it totally depends on the bank.

We’re also looking into alternative options for completing the VKYC and will keep you updated. Thank you for your understanding!

I have already provided my November 2024 flight tickets and nobody has reached out yet

We understand your distress, please allow us a window to get back to you with an update.

Hi @VedaNand_Chaudhary,

Welcome to the Niyo Community! :raised_hands:

We want to let you know that your account is currently frozen due to pending ReKYC completion. Since you’re out of India, we understand that completing this process online isn’t an option for you right now.

But don’t worry! The team at SBM Bank is ready to assist you with the offline ReKYC process. You can reach out to them for support at:

  • Phone: 1800-1033-817
  • Email: customercare@sbmbank.co.in

They will guide you through the necessary steps to resolve this quickly.

If you have any further questions or need assistance along the way, please feel free to reach out. We’re here to support you!

Hi Arnav, we have prioritized your account unfreezing request and escalated it to the bank team. We are currently waiting for their response. Please note that this is an alternative approach, and we do not have a specific timeline for resolution, as it depends entirely on the bank.

If you have any questions or need further clarification, please feel free to reach out to SBM Bank at 1800-1033-817 or via email at customercare@sbmbank.co.in

Thank you for your understanding!
