Hey @NIYOCOMM20241022WYIS

We tried calling you but unfortunately couldn’t connect. Let us help clarify your queries regarding Fixed Deposit credit card usage:

:credit_card: Credit Limit:
Your credit card limit is 100% of your FD amount, with a maximum limit of ₹25 Lakhs. Even if you create FDs worth more than ₹25 Lakhs, your credit limit will not exceed ₹25 Lakhs.

:bank: FD Creation:
Yes, you can continue to create new FDs even if you already have an existing one. Each FD can contribute toward your total credit limit (subject to the ₹25L limit).

:money_bag: Bill Payment & Withdrawal:
Since this is an FD-backed credit card, it is essential to pay your bill on time after it gets generated to avoid late payment charges.

If you wish to clear your dues using your FD:

  1. First, please manually pay 10% of the outstanding bill.
  2. Then, you can request for FD closure.
  3. The bank will use your FD balance to settle the remaining dues.

:repeat_button: New Cycle of FDs:
Absolutely! Once you’ve cleared your dues and closed the old FD, you can start a new cycle of FD creation and enjoy the same credit benefits again.

We hope this clears things up!

Hi @Concabs Abhishek,

Thanks for sharing the details. As checked with our team, your trial transaction was declined due to a temporary server issue. We recommend trying a POS transaction by swiping your card or making a fund transfer by adding the beneficiary in the Niyo app.

If you face any errors, please share a screenshot on the same email so we can get it checked with the concerned team and resolve it at the earliest.

We truly appreciate your patience and understanding!

I want to apply for SBM visa credit card that is FD backed secured credit card! I already have a global niyo DCB visa debit card and NIyo app, how do I apply for SBM visa credit card as soon as possible?

I would really appreciate your help as I am little short on time and I need secured VISA credit card as soon as possible.:folded_hands:

Hey @abhishek_viradiya

We’re excited to see your interest in our credit card! :credit_card:Since you already have a Niyo SBM Savings Account, all you need to do is create a Fixed Deposit (FD) to get started. Once the FD is created, your credit card will be delivered to your registered address within 3–7 working days.** :open_mailbox_with_raised_flag:

Please note that your FD amount will serve as your credit limit, and a bill will be generated for the utilized amount, just like any other credit card.

If you need any further assistance, feel free to reach out — we’re always here to help!

2 posts were merged into an existing topic: Ask anything Niyo Card here!

Title says it. Savings rate is only 3.5%. Can I place a fixed deposit using niyo and then attach the FD as a lien for increasing card limit?

Hey Pankaj!

Welcome to the Niyo Community! :hugs:

We understand your concern regarding the savings rate and the FD backed credit card limit.

Please note that Secured FD and lien-based FD are two different facilities and are associated with two different partner banks.

  • To increase the limit on the Niyo SBM Credit Card, you would need to create an additional FD with SBM Bank (India), as this card is FD-backed.

  • For the Niyo DCB Credit Card, the limit is lien-based, meaning a specific amount must be maintained as a lien in your DCB Bank savings account to enhance the limit.

Also, please be informed that Niyo offers international debit and credit cards with zero forex markup, making them suitable for international spends, travel, and online global transactions. We currently partner with DCB Bank and SBM Bank (India) for these offerings.
