Hi Team,
I am travelling to Nepal in 10days, After reaching there i am planing to withdraw cash from ATM in airport using niyo dcb debit card.
So my question here is
- Can i with draw money using niyo dcb debit card with out any issues in Nepal?
- If we can withdraw then what will be the charges if i withdraw money from atm?
Hi @NIYOCOMM20240914WRBR Mahesh,
Welcome to the Niyo Community!
I visited Nepal last month and had the chance to use my Niyo DCB Debit Card for both cash withdrawals💵 and POS payments.
It worked seamlessly in both cases.
I also used the Niyo SBM Credit Card for POS payments, and it worked well too.
Just a heads-up about using Indian currency INR in Nepal: I noticed that you might end up paying more. For example, a shopkeeper quoted 100 Nepalese Rupees (~62 INR) for an item but asked for 80 INR (~128 NPR) if paying in Indian Rupees.
Tip :
Make sure to use the ATM Locator feature on the Niyo app! It’s a handy tool to find surcharge-free ATMs.✅
Hope this helps!😊

Thanks for joining the call with me, Manish. Unfortunately, we can’t complete your SBM account onboarding digitally due to an issue on the SBM bank’s end.
However, you can still use your Niyo DCB card smoothly for all your international transactions.
I hope I was able to address all your concerns. If you have any more questions, feel free to reach out!

@anuragalive Hi Anurag, when did you used the Niyo DCB debit card in Nepal last time? I received my card recently and planning to travel in Nepal. I checked with Niyo Customer service and they mentioned it won’t work in Nepal.

@Preeti yesterday I was checking with Niyo Bot Support. They mentioned it is not valid in Nepal. Can you please confirm.
Hi @NIYOCOMM20241001UTDX ,
Yes, I’ve used the Niyo DCB Debit card in Nepal for both ATM withdrawals and POS payments. While the app may indicate that it won’t work there, I found that it did work just fine. I was there in July 2024, and I had no issues at all. Safe travels!
Hi Sangram, we tried to reach you by phone, but it looks like you were not available. Just wanted to confirm that the Niyo DCB card will definitely work in Nepal. For extra peace of mind, you can use the “Test a Transaction” feature with the link we shared earlier.
Hope that helps! Let us know if you have any other questions.
