My name is Simran Yadav, and I hold an account with SBM Bank under this name.
I am currently outside India for my studies and staying in Poland. Since this morning, I have been trying to update my KYC online, but the system is not displaying any options or allowing me to proceed.
Due to this issue, I am unable to book flight tickets or carry out essential transactions such as UPI payments and domestic fund transfers. This has caused significant inconvenience, especially since I am managing everything from abroad.
I kindly request you to please extend the validity of my KYC until I return to India, when I will promptly complete the KYC process in person.
Please treat this as an urgent request and assist me as soon as possible.

Hi Team,
I have a Niyo Global card and holds SBM bank. Recently I spent with my credit card for online shopping but unable to pay from SBM bank account due to e-KYC.
I can’t process e-KYC as I’m in Japan and can’t travel within 12 days. However, my niyo credit card payment date is on 16th July.
Kindly help me with the issue, I only need to clear my credit card bill. Rest assured I’ll do my e-KYC once I’ll visit India.
Note : I tried paying from Cred / Paytm but it says Bank is not registered with Bharat Connect.
We understand your concern regarding the Re-KYC process. Since you’re currently abroad, Re-KYC with SBM Bank cannot be completed from outside India. We request you to email us at global@goniyo.com with the details mentioned below, so we can guide you further.

Urgent: REKYC Request Follow-up and Date Extension Concern (Ref. No. SR1656702)
Good Morning,
I hope you are doing well.
I am writing to urgently follow up on my REKYC request, reference number SR1656702, initially submitted on 25th June 2025. As per your earlier communication, my request was scheduled to be attended by 4th July 2025.
However, upon following up, I received another email stating that the timeline has now been extended to 14th July 2025. I am quite concerned about this change, as I need to urgently transfer funds, and the delay in reactivating my account is causing significant inconvenience.
Given the urgency, I kindly request that you expedite the REKYC process or provide an alternative way for me to complete it immediately. Your assistance in resolving this issue at the earliest would be highly appreciated.
Please let me know what can be done to fast-track the process.

We truly understand the urgency of your situation and the inconvenience this delay may be causing.
Please allow us a window to have this checked with the bank—we will do our best to prioritise your REKYC request and explore if the process can be expedited. Rest assured, we’re closely monitoring this and will keep you informed of any further updates.
We appreciate your patience and are here to support you every step of the way.
As per the confirmation received from the bank. We are happy to inform you that your Niyo SBM account has been successfully unfrozen by SBM Bank, and you can now access and utilize the funds in your account.
To ensure uninterrupted access, please make sure to complete the Video KYC (VKYC) process within the agreed timeline. Failure to do so may result in your account being frozen again.
Note: Now that your Niyo SBM account is active, you can load funds, transfer them to other accounts, and use the available balance to pay your SBM credit card bill.
However, to enable international transactions on your debit card, the VKYC process must be completed. Once the VKYC is finalized, you will have full access to all features, including international transaction capabilities.
Thank you for your patience and understanding throughout the process.
@saraswathi.r

Also, will share the ticket number after completing the process.

I used my niyo credit card to recharge my mobile, now i am in china when i going to pay the bill SBM BANK asking for KYC,i can’t open the vdo kyc link also. I very pathetic.be sure before use your card.
Also i can not pay my card bill from 3rd party apps like cred.
Any idea how can i pay my bills with out withdrawal my FD.???
We understand that you are trying to make a credit card bill payment from your SBM Bank account. Kindly note that as your SBM account is frozen due to non-completion of Re-KYC, you will need to complete the Re-KYC process(you will have to be in India to proceed with KYC) to unfreeze it for fund transfers and other transactions such as credit card bill payments and international transactions.
However, since you are currently abroad, you can request temporary activation to make credit card bill payments and INR fund transfers.
We have built a feature in the app to help with this. Here’s how it works:
The app prompts you to fill in a few simple details.
Based on the input, a declaration form (as required by the bank) is auto-generated with pre-filled information.
The app will then guide you with clear instructions on the next steps.
Once you give your consent, an auto-generated email draft is created.
You will be prompted to attach two documents:
The generated declaration form.
A valid visa proof confirming that you are currently abroad.
The email will be sent to us with the subject line: “Currently Abroad: Please activate my account”
Please feel free to share your ticket ID here so that we can help in prioritizing your request.
Alternatively, you can pay the credit card bill via the BillDesk link using any of your other bank accounts: Credit Card Bill Payment
I’m currently outside India and going through the temporary reactivation process for my Niyo SBM account by submitting documents from abroad.
Once my account is temporarily reactivated, will I be able to use my Niyo SBM credit card for international transactions, including online purchases and in-store payments?
Please let me know if temporary KYC enables card usage abroad, or if any restrictions will apply.
Please note that the Niyo SBM credit card remains active for international transactions as usual and is not impacted by the Re-KYC status.
However, during the temporary reactivation of your account, the SBM debit card will not be enabled for international usage. You’ll still be able to transfer funds in INR and pay your credit card bills, but creating new FDs or using the debit card abroad will remain restricted until the full Re-KYC is completed—which can only be done once you’re back in India.
I understand that I can still transfer funds in INR and pay credit card bills. However, I tried using my SBM debit card to pay the Niyo SBM credit card bill, and it’s not working. Could you please confirm if this payment should work during the temporary reactivation, or if there’s any specific method I need to follow?
@hett09 Thanks for flagging this, and sorry for the inconvenience. Please allow us some time to check with the team—we’ll get back to you with an update shortly.
Thank you for your patience. Upon checking, we found that you’ve raised a KYC extension request, but it hasn’t been forwarded to the bank yet as the documentation is incomplete—specifically, the Re-KYC declaration form is pending.
Our team has already responded to you on ticket #202697 with the necessary steps. We request you to follow the instructions shared there. Once the documents are submitted, please let us know so we can coordinate with the bank and proceed with your Re-KYC extension request.
Please note that INR fund transfers and credit card bill payments from your SBM account will only be enabled once the bank confirms the extension.
They are not allowing any action without Re KyC and not letting KYC also happen by not allowing it to happen on WIFI and on mobile network giving reasons that network is poor and need to call again. This too happening after 15 tries to get an agent connected, either no agent available or ran into issue.
I think SBM is trying to close operations and looking to keep Non KYC money withholding.
We’re sorry to hear about your experience with the Re-KYC process. Please note that KYC is mandated by SBM Bank to keep your account active and is conducted in the SBM KYC portal daily. For security reasons, it cannot be completed over VPN or Wi-Fi.
We’d like to assist you—please check your DM and share a screenshot of the KYC page you’re encountering.
I have a pending KYC request on my Niyo account, but I am currently overseas and not in India, which makes it impossible for me to complete the in-person verification process at this time.
This is causing me significant difficulty as I have a credit card payment due, and I am unable to make the payment until my KYC is completed and the account is fully operational.
Could you please advise on the following:
Is there any alternative KYC process for NRI/overseas users?
Can any temporary solution be provided to help me complete the payment?
What are the steps I should follow under these circumstances?
I would appreciate your urgent help and guidance, as this is time-sensitive.
