🚀 MASSIVE ANNOUNCEMENT: The DCB Secured Credit Card (SCC) is LIVE!

Hello Niyo Community! Get ready for the next level of zero-forex power!

We are absolutely thrilled to announce the imminent launch of the all-new DCB Secured Credit Card (SCC)! The world’s first lien-backed credit card of its kind. This product is engineered to give our community the ultimate global spending advantage, and we need you to be the first to test it in this early access phase!

:door: The Product Magic: Your Card-Your Limit Credit Line

The DCB Secured Credit Card introduces a unique mechanism: it’s a Savings Account Lien-Backed Credit Card. This is simpler and more flexible than traditional options:

  • The Collateral: Instead of locking your funds in a fixed deposit (FD), a Lien (a temporary freeze) is placed on a portion of your existing Savings Account balance.

  • The Limit: You instantly get a Credit Limit that is 90% of the Lien amount (e.g., Freeze ₹10,000 to get a ₹9,000 Credit Limit).

  • The Advantage: This is the ultimate TWO-WAY DOOR! Unlike an FD, placing or releasing this lien is quick and seamless, giving you easy In and Out accessibility to your savings funds while you enjoy the credit line!

:high_voltage: Core Benefits: Beyond Zero Markup & 3X Rewards!

The DCB SCC is the ultimate global companion with Zero Markup on international spends, plus 3X Rewards! Here’s why every serious traveler needs this card:

@Vishal_Sinha1 when did you applied the card? I also applied it and the banner offer also displayed saying you will get free Niyo Premium Membership (1year) but now the customer care is saying that it’s only for who applied before November 1

Hi

I just applied for Niyo DCB Credit card. After applying the lieu amount is effectively blocked from my Niyo Savings account. What is the purpose of a credit card if it blocks my savings account withdrawal limits?

Hey @Rajesh_Udupi

Welcome to the Niyo Community! :hugs:

We understand your concern and would like to clarify how the DCB Niyo Credit Card works. With your DCB Savings Account, you can instantly unlock a credit line :credit_card:, enjoy higher acceptance rates, skip TCS on international transactions :globe_showing_europe_africa:, and build your credit score :chart_increasing:—all while keeping your money safe, accessible, and earning interest.

The amount you’re referring to is a lien, which simply means a portion of your savings is set aside as collateral :locked: for your credit card. This amount is not debited or invested—it’s just kept on hold.

Unlike FD-backed cards, the lien/unlien process is quick, seamless, and fully reversible anytime :repeat_button:. There’s no long-term lock-in—think of it as temporarily keeping money aside rather than blocking your savings.

This flexibility makes the DCB Niyo Secured Credit Card easy to opt in and out of, while your savings continue to earn interest and support your credit card usage :sparkles:. Should you need any further help, please feel free to write back. We’re always here for you!

Appreciate your timely response. I understand the flexibility the card provides. However, technically if i use the credit card, the system forces me to keep lieu amount blocked which i cannot withdraw. The credit card is not “credit” card in that sense. It just allows me to defer my bill payment by few weeks. I’m assuming even if i want to pay the bill from DCG savings account, i have to lower my lieu amount and use it to pay the bill. If my understanding is incorrect please have someone call me back. I’m planning to cancel the credit card as it doesn’t serve my purpose. Scapia is bettee in that sense.

Hey @Rajesh_Udupi,

Thank you for sharing your perspective—we understand where you’re coming from and appreciate you explaining your concern in detail.

To clarify, the Niyo DCB Credit Card is a lien-backed credit card, designed for users who may not have a traditional unsecured credit line. The lien amount acts purely as security, not as the source of bill payments. Even when you use the credit card, you’re not required to break or reduce the lien to pay your dues. Your monthly credit card bill can be paid like any regular credit card—via your savings account balance or any external bank account.

The lien remains in place only as collateral to support your credit limit. It does not automatically get used for repayments, nor does it get consumed as you spend. This is what enables benefits like high acceptance, zero forex markup, and credit score building without exposing the bank to unsecured risk.

Hope we were able to address your doubts. Should you need any further help, please feel free to write back. We’re always here for you!

I understand the feature of the card better now. However i dont see any value add compared to the niyo debit card apart from deferred payments which is again backed by lieu amount from my savings account. Hence planning to cancel the credit card request. Thank you for your assistance on this topic.
