Hi,

I have got a Niyo DCB debit card. I am trying to make a purchase online through Klook for an experience in Japan. My international limits etc are all in place, but still it is getting declined. Why?

I read somewhere I will have to choose local currency, but how do I do that?

I’m trying to pay for my booking on agoda, and everytime I use my niyo DCB Bank debit card it fails, saying that it’s unable to process this credit card.

Always pay in the website’s default currency, not INR. If you switch to INR, DCC kicks in and adds sneaky fees.

Niyo cards work best when the payment is processed in the local or base currency. So if you’re booking a hotel in Thailand, pay in THB, not INR.

Turn off any currency conversion option during checkout. If it says “charged in your home currency,” click no without thinking twice.

Check the final payment page before clicking pay. If the total looks too high, chances are DCC is already in action.

Niyo blocks most DCC charges by default, but staying alert keeps your budget safe and your travel smoother.

Niyo Global cards run on the Visa network, so always confirm the merchant or ATM supports it. And yes, sticking to trusted platforms, monitoring your spending in real-time, and using the in-app block option if needed ensures full control and peace of mind while abroad.
