📢 Important Update: NiyoX & Niyo Global (Equitas) Users – Action Required Before May 31, 2025!

Hi. I received a message from equitas bank that their collaboration with niyo will end on 31.05.2025. what are its consequences? What will happen to my niyo account? Can’t I use my card abroad?

Hi @NIYOCOMM20250501Z2CW,

Welcome to the Niyo Community! :hugs:

We’d like to inform you about an important update regarding your NiyoX Equitas account and Niyo Global Equitas account.

Effective June 1, 2025:

  • You will no longer be able to access or operate your Equitas Bank account through the NiyoX or Niyo Global apps.

  • The zero forex markup benefit on your Niyo Global Card (issued by Equitas Bank) will be discontinued after May 31, 2025.

  • Your Equitas Bank account remains active and secure and can still be accessed via the Equitas Bank mobile app or by visiting a branch.

  • Your card will continue to function, but a 1.5% forex markup fee will apply to international transactions starting June 1, 2025.

To continue enjoying zero forex markup and a seamless travel banking experience, we recommend downloading the Niyo Global app from the Play Store or App Store and exploring alternative options like Niyo Global SBM or Niyo Global DCB.

We’re here to support you through this transition. If you need any help, feel free to reach out.

This update is not just disappointing; it’s outright inconsiderate to customers who are currently abroad and rely on the Niyo Global Equitas card for everyday use.

You’re ending key benefits like zero forex markup and access to Equitas accounts through your app with barely a month’s notice. It feels like you expect everyone to be in India and able to switch to a new provider or complete KYC on the spot. That’s just not realistic for many of us who trusted Niyo to support international usage without suddenly pulling the rug out from under us.

Instead of offering a smooth and supportive transition, you’re cornering users with new fees and no remote alternatives. This doesn’t feel like a managed change, it feels like being abandoned just like how it happened with the SBM Debit Card few years ago.

We genuinely expected more from a company that calls itself “Global.” Please do better by providing real solutions for those of us overseas, because right now, this entire situation comes across as careless and poorly planned.

Hey @Naruto_Kun

We truly regret the inconvenience this sudden change has caused and completely understand how difficult it can be, especially for customers currently overseas who rely on the Niyo Equitas card.

We acknowledge your feedback, and you’re absolutely right—major transitions like this should come with thoughtful planning and adequate support. While our partnership with Equitas Bank is coming to a close, we want to assure you that your Equitas Bank account remains active and accessible directly via the Equitas Mobile Banking app or Internet Banking. You can continue to manage your account, make transactions, and access services directly through them.

We recognize that this may not be the ideal solution for everyone, and we’re actively sharing such concerns with our internal teams to explore more seamless ways of managing such transitions in the future. Your feedback is extremely valuable to us, and we genuinely appreciate the trust you’ve placed in Niyo over the years.

Should you need help accessing your account through Equitas Bank or have questions about alternate products that support international usage, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at global@goniyo.com— we’re here for you.

What about the Invest option in the NiyoX app? Will that still be accessible? Will we be able to invest or redeem our mutual funds on the NiyoX app?

Hey @Bhavjeet_Singh

Welcome to the Niyo Community! :hugs:

We would like to inform you that this change will not impact your mutual fund investments in any way — you’re all good there! :briefcase:

However, to track, invest, or redeem your mutual funds going forward, we recommend downloading the Niyo Money app :mobile_phone_with_arrow:. It’s designed to give you a smooth and detailed view of all your investment activities. :bar_chart:

Let us know if you need help getting started! :raising_hands:
