:earth_africa: From a Tweet to a Lifesaver: My Niyo Experience! :sparkles:

It all started with research and a tweet. Back in 2023, while preparing for an upcoming trip, I applied for a Niyo SBM Debit Card. Just 15 days later, I found out that international transactions were paused for the SBM Debit card, and I needed a Niyo SBM Credit Card instead. The catch? I had only six days before my departure! :scream:

I turned to Twitter and shared my situation with Niyo twitter (now X) handle. To my surprise, I got a call from Niyo, and on the other end of the line was someone who truly went above and beyond! :telephone_receiver: I had a long list of questions ready, and he patiently answered them one by one. Not only that, but he also expedited the delivery of my credit card, it arrived just a day before my flight! Talk about top-notch support! :rocket: Can you guess who it was? It was none other than Zahid! our community manager! @Zahid_Niyo

Fast forward to my other trip, I had booked a long stay at an IHG resort—something I usually don’t do as I prefer switching resorts every few days. Everything was prepaid online, but upon check-in, I was told I needed to pay a fully refundable security deposit for two nights—134 OMR (~₹30,000). :astonished:

Before, I was using traditional cards, but later I switched to Niyo for both domestic and international transactions. The booking was prepaid, but when I checked in, I found out that I had to pay a fully refundable security deposit for two nights—around 134 OMR, which is roughly ₹30,000 INR. Being a Nadaan Parinda, I confidently presented all the cards I had, only to be told that they required a credit card. Luckily, I had my Niyo SBM Credit Card with me, and it saved my trip like always, plus it helped me avoid unnecessary charges. Once the payment was approved, I was silently thinking: JALWA hai HUMARA! :sunglasses:

Last year, I booked a flight through Niyo App for another trip and redeemed 17,100 Niyo Coins—earned through domestic transactions and referrals. The original price was ₹9,839, but with my coins, I snagged it for just ₹8,129, with zero convenience fees! :tada::moneybag:

From swift customer support to seamless transactions and rewards, my journey with Niyo has been nothing short of amazing! :rocket::blue_heart:

For me, Niyo has helped in many ways. As a regular traveler, I was able to save a lot of money using Niyo debit and credit cards. But now I’d like to share my experience booking a visa through Niyo.

Before my last visit to Dubai, I was comparing various visa agents for Dubai visas and found Niyo to be cheaper.

The base price of the Dubai visa on Niyo was way cheaper than any other agent’s. Also, I was able to save around 1500 rupees using Niyo coins. Overall, I got my Dubai visa for a good deal through Niyo.

It only took 3 days for the visa to arrive. Also, during my entire trip, I used my Niyo DCB debit card and Niyo SBM credit card. Both worked seamlessly.

The Niyo Traveler’s Tale

Vincent and i had always dreamed of exploring Europe, but dealing with forex and ATM fees made us nervous.

A friend suggested Niyo, a travel-friendly card with zero forex markup.

Skeptical yet hopeful, we activated it before our trip.

From buying gelato in Rome to booking a last-minute train to Paris, every transaction was seamless.

We even got instant updates on our expenses!

For the first time, our money wasn’t a travel worry.

We both returned home with memories, not financial regrets—our trip, truly hassle-free! Thanks to Niyo! :hearts:

My Solo Trip to the 4 Stans with Niyo :earth_africa:

I recently completed a 33-day solo trip to Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan, and my Niyo cards made the journey so much easier. Here’s how Niyo helped me along the way:

How Niyo Made My Trip Hassle-Free

  • Seamless Payments: I used my Niyo SBM Credit Card and DCB Debit Card in all 4 countries. From booking flights to withdrawing cash at ATMs, Niyo’s zero forex markup saved me a lot of money.
  • Transport & SIM Cards: I linked my Niyo card to the Yandex Go app (like Uber) for cab payments and bought a SIM card at Uzbekistan airport using my Niyo card—no cash needed!
  • Train Tickets & Entrance Fees: Whether it was booking the Afrosiyab fast train in Uzbekistan or paying for UNESCO site entries, my Niyo card worked everywhere.

Tips for Niyo Users

  • Carry some USD as backup, but rely on your Niyo card for cash withdrawals and payments to avoid high forex fees.
  • Use apps like 2GIS (offline maps) and Yandex Go for transport. Link your Niyo card for easy payments.
  • Buy local SIMs at airports using your Niyo card—Beeline in Uzbekistan and O! in Kyrgyzstan worked best for me.

Highlights of My Trip

From exploring Registan Square in Samarkand to hiking in Jyrgalan Valley, Kyrgyzstan, Niyo ensured I could focus on the experience without worrying about payments or forex hassles.
