Hi @Zahid_Niyo ,

First off, I just want to say a huge thanks for the recent upgrade to the DCB Niyo Debit Card. The added security and convenience for Tap & Pay on public transport is really appreciated, especially with the effort to prevent card cloning! :raised_hands:

I have a quick question about using cards for public transport in Thailand. I have both the Niyo SBM Debit and Credit Cards, as well as the Niyo DCB Debit Card. Will these cards work for Tap & Pay on the Mass Rapid Transit and Bangkok Mass Transit System systems in Thailand? It would be great to know if all these cards are compatible for travel on those systems!
Also, I applied for my Niyo DCB card early last year (2024), and since the changes took place last year, I was wondering if there could be a limited time free upgrade option for users who applied last year only and maintain an AQB of more than ₹1 lakh.
Looking forward to your response, and thanks again for the improvements and support!

Hi @anuragalive,

Appreciate your kind words! Security has been a top priority for us, and enabling Tap & Pay with enhanced protection was a key part of the upgrade. Glad to see it’s valuable to you!

Yes! Your Niyo SBM Debit and Credit Card should work fine for Tap & Pay on Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) and Bangkok Mass Transit System (BTS) in Thailand. :train2::credit_card:

As for your Niyo DCB Debit Card, it will continue to work without any issues for POS, online transactions, and ATM withdrawals. However, if you specifically need it for public transport abroad, you’ll need the upgraded version with enhanced security and chip technology. You can follow the steps in the post above to get one.

I completely understand your concern, and we truly appreciate your continued trust in Niyo. However, card reordering charges cannot be waived, as the upgrade isn’t just about enabling Tap & Pay but also ensuring better protection against fraud and card cloning risks when using public transport globally.

If you do decide to upgrade, just a quick reminder: please don’t block your current DCB card until the new one arrives! :arrows_counterclockwise::white_check_mark:

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions. Happy travels! :airplane::blush:
