Hey guys, I hope everyone is doing well. I just returned from my trip to Malaysia, and I’d like to share some insights about it.
First of all, thanks to the members of this group. Without you all, this trip wouldn’t be possible. Many friends in this group helped me by suggesting itineraries, etc. I’m not mentioning the names, because there are lot
Overall, the trip was amazing. But I must say it wasn’t the right time to visit. It rained heavily most of the days. But it didn’t affect my trip. I enjoyed every moment.
If you are staying in Bukit Bintang, most of the attractions are nearby. You can just walk if you planned well. Also, Grab (taxi) was much cheaper in Malaysia compared to India. Mine was a budget trip, although I used Grab all the time.
There are lots of street food options in Malaysia. Try to go to some local shops other than food streets because the food is much cheaper there.
Some of the closing times of attractions like KL Echo Park were mentioned incorrectly in Google. It was 7:30 PM, but it closed at 4:30 PM. So, always try to arrive early.
If you are visiting the KL Tower, try to get a FastTrack ticket because the queue is very long. They do not have a specific time on the ticket. I waited for hours in the queue.
Don’t miss Chinatown and the premium outlet at Genting Highlands if you are someone who likes to shop. Chinatown is a bargain market. You can get copies of branded clothes and perfumes at cheap prices. They start at high prices. Be sure to compare prices at various markets and bargain. As for the premium outlet in Genting Highlands, you will find many international brand products at cheap prices. Especially the Nike factory outlet. I bought three shoes for much cheaper rates.
Don’t miss the amazing island of Langkawi. It was mind-blowing. I was only planning to go to KL at first. But the members of our group suggested going to Langkawi as well. I actually enjoyed Langkawi more than KL.
In Langkawi, the skybridge may close if the weather is bad. So, make your days flexible if you want. When I went there, it was closed. But later, it opened when the weather became clear. They said sometimes it remains closed throughout the day.
Also, I would like to mention that the water was too expensive. It was almost 55 rupees for the one that we get for 10 rupees in India.
Last but not least, I would also like to thank the Niyo team as I used the Niyo Global DCB card for my entire trip. I did not face any issues. The POS and tap-to-pay options worked smoothly all the time. I also enjoyed the lounge access from Niyo, which was also smooth.
