Getting to Pune’s downtown city center from the airport can be expensive, but cheaper alternatives like autorickshaws and city buses are available.
To find the prepaid auto booth at Pune airport, follow these steps:
- After exiting the baggage area, turn right and look for directions on a large board.
- Use Google Maps in walk mode and follow the yellow footwear marks pointing to the cab pick-up area.
- Walk about 200 meters to reach covered escalators and stairs, then climb up and walk straight past the accessibility features.

Turn left to find a moving walkway. At the end, take a right, where you can book an e-taxi if preferred.

For the prepaid auto, take the elevator to the second floor, exit, and look slightly left and far ahead for the booth.
The prepaid auto fares (as of October 2024) were INR 200 to Deccan and INR 300 to Pashan-Baner Link Road, significantly cheaper than the INR 625 charged by taxis. Use Google Maps in taxi mode to guide drivers through shortcuts on your way home.
