When will Aadhaar Virtual ID (16 digit) be accepted?

Aadhaar 16 digit virtual ID has not been accepted since 2020, check tweet.

When do you plan to implement this ? We don’t want to enter the 12 digit Aadhaar number due to privacy concerns, and don’t repeat your “we are secure” drivel.

Currently, our app does not have the facility to accept the VID of the Aadhaar. Alternatively, you get an option to scan the QR code on your Aadhaar. Please be assured that all your details are safe and secure with us. However, we’ve made a note of your feedback and will share that with our team to see if we can bring this option in the future.

Scan QR is not a substitution for Virtual ID as Aadhaar number still gets shared.

And Scan QR doesn’t even work on the iOS app, nothing happens on clicking the button.

We understand that it’s not a substitution. Feedback will be shared with our product team and we’ll see if we can add a VID option in the future.
