To safeguard investors’ interest, SEBI has recently mandated that investors must complete a one-time 2-Factor Authentication via OTP to add Nominee Details of their existing mutual fund investments before 1st October 2023. A failure to do so might result in your existing folios being frozen for withdrawals or fresh investments.
AMCs (Mutual Fund companies) are empanelled with one of these 2 RTAs (Registrar and Transfer Agents): CAMS or Karvy (KFintech). You can easily add or change the Nominee Details in your existing mutual fund investments via these RTAs.
- Visit CAMS RTA and KFintech RTA portals
- Enter your PAN
- Authenticate via OTP sent to your email or mobile
- Select the folios where you want to add/change your nominee
- Add the Nominee Details and update
We recommend you check in both CAMS and Karvy’s portals as you might have mutual fund investments associated with both RTAs.
Last date to complete this one-time activity is 30th September, 2023. If your mutual fund folios do not have any nomination (opt-in or opt-out), your folios would be frozen for investments and withdrawals. Check today!
